2. Installation and Interface:
------------------------------

sturmoLOG is a tool for evaluating logfiles generated by IL-2 Sturmovik.
These logfiles are generated by default in the IL-2 directory named Logfile.log
and simply need to be opened with sturmoLOG.

Installation:
-Unzip the content of the package.
-Check for completeness!
--sturmoLOG 1.2 (sturmolog-Exe-File)
--English (Englisch translationfile)
--ReadmeG (German Readme-File)
--ReadmeE (English Readme-File)
-Move the files to a position most suitable for you.
-You may add a shortcut to your startmenu or your desktop for a maximum of comfort.
-For setup reasons you should start sturmoLOG at least once before you play IL-2 Sturmovik.
-sturmoLOG now configures your IL2-installation automatically to generate logfiles.
-Now you might sturmoLOG and start playing IL2 as usual.
-After quitting IL2 you can view the extended logfile.

3. Usage:
---------

-Start the "sturmoLOG 1.2.EXE"-file
-You can open a IL-2-logfile with sturmoLOG on several different ways:
--Drag & drop the logfile into sturmoLOG's window
--Open the file via the "File->Open" Dialog
--Drag & drop the logfile onto the "sturmoLOG 1.2.EXE" icon

-In the left area of the window you should see a treediagrampresenting you the following options:
--The LogFile containing the following branches:
---All-time-userstats
---All the games you took part in.

--The latter also contain several branches listing all the players that participated in the game.
--Additionally you have the choice of viewing all the chitchatting that took place within this very game.

-By clicking on one of the listed topics in the tree-diagram to the left you are presented the corresponding information to the right.

4. Export:
----------

To export sturmoLOG data to a IL-2 compatible logfile you simply need to mark the you
would like to export. Then you can choose "Export as ... (*.log)" from the contextmenu
(right-click) or choose the corresponding entry in the "Export"-menu. In the following
dialog you can choose the file to export the data into. If you select an existing file the
data is simply appended.
The "Export to ... (*.html)"-feature is not implemented yet, but being worked on and
hopefully to be presented in the upcoming version.

You are advised to export larger logfiles after loading, as the export strips all
unnecessary entries and thereby shrinks filesize and minimizes at the same time
the loading time.

Depending on which branch you choose in the tree diagram different data is exported:

-choosing the filename
->exports all data with all relevant stats and chatlogs

-choosing the complete statistics
->exports data on all games that contain stats

-choosing a player in the complete statistics
->exports data on all games the player took part in

-choosing a game
->exports this very game with relevant stats and the chatlog

-choosing a player in a single game
->exports the stats of the player from this game

-choosing the chat of a game
->exports only the chatlog

5. Options:
-----------

All these listed options may be accessed via the "Options"-menu.

Choose "Options->Settings" to configure the settings for logging
-"Logfile on|off" to enable or disable logging (logging is crucial for sturmoLOG)
-"Timestamping" to add timestamps to every logged event (This is also needed for sturmoLOG)
-"Logfile": In this textarea you may enter the name for your logfile. There are no naming conventions for logfiles used for sturmoLOG.
-"Statis every (min.)": Here you may enter the period between each logging process. Decreasing this value may produce more exact logs but on the other hand result in bigger logfiles.
-"Default" resets the settings.

Choose "Options->language" to change the language used
-You may choose the language via the dropdown-menu.
-Afterwards the program is closed automatically and you can start it using the new language.

"Options->IL2 Exe"
-Using this Dialog you can enter the path to your IL2.EXE. This may be needed if sturmoLOG could not find it in the automatic configuration procedure. You will get a message if this is the case.

6. Uninstall:
-------------

If you want to get rid of this fabulous tool you just need to do the following:

-Think about it once more.
-You may disable logging via the settings.
-Simply delete all the files that were contained in the original package (see upwards)
-Look up your IL-2 directory and search for the file "dosturmolog". Delete this file as well.
-That's all! You wanted it.
